Our Story
Kraftor was born out of the challenges faced by young Ugandan creatives in accessing quality materials and skilled artisans to bring their ideas to life. Frustrated by these barriers, we set out to create a platform that would empower creatives with the resources they need. As our conversations deepened, we discovered an even greater challenge: access to knowledge. Across Uganda and the broader African continent, there is a lack of documented architectural, design, and art projects. Meanwhile, global design magazines often feature work that is disconnected from our local contexts.
Kraftor is powered by a diverse collective of multidisciplinary artists and designers, all with a shared passion for architecture. Our mission is to spread knowledge while providing our audience with the tools and resources needed to enhance their design and creative skills. We curate a rich mix of written, visual, audio, and video content that showcases the finest architecture, design, and art projects from across Africa.
